Frequently Asked Registration Questions

If you don’t see your specific question below, please don’t hesitate contact the TJAY Soccer board at [email protected].

When is registration?
Registration for the spring soccer season opens in November and the team practices begin in mid to late March.

Registration for fall soccer opens in June and the team practices begins in mid to late August.

You may register your player anytime but know that teams fill up and all registrations are on a first come/first serve basis, so it is recommended to register early to ensure a roster spot.

How old do you have to be to play with TJAY Soccer Club?
We have teams available for ages from Pre-K through High School.

When do players play?
TJAY Soccer plays two official seasons per year. The Spring season typically runs from early April through early June, and the Fall season typically runs from early September through the end of October or first weekend of November. Practices begin in the weeks before the season.

How do we register?

You can register quickly and easily online under the Registration tab of our website. You may also complete and mail in a paper form to TJAY Soccer, P.O. Box 1591, Frederick, MD 21702.

Unfortunately, we cannot register your player over the phone.

Visit the Registration Information page for even more information.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards.   We also accept personal checks and cash.  We pretty much accept it all, but we can’t accept the deed on your house, a car, soccer equipment, or children left at practice as a form of payment.

Do girls and boys play on the same team?
We have coed teams in every age group.  We also offer all girl teams in most age groups.

How do I know what age group my child is in?
Age groups are organized by school grade level.
U6/In House is for pre-k through kindergarten
U8 is for 1st and 2nd grade
U10 is for 3rd and 4th grade
U12 is 5th and 6th grade
U14 is 7th and 8th grade
High school is for high school students

Please note that some players are allowed to play up an age group, although it is not recommended.

Can I request a special team?

Why, yes you may!  We will do our best to place your child according to your request. However, we cannot guarantee special placement. The best way to ensure your child plays on the team you want is to register early.

My player wants to return to the same team, how can I make certain this will happen?
Early registration is the best way to get on any specific team, as placements are handled by order of registration. So, if you want to guarantee that you return to the same team, please register early in the registration period.

Players who register late are not guaranteed to return to their team. If you register after the deadline, it is VERY possible that you will lose your spot to a new player. Players who take a season off are not guaranteed their spot back.

Is the uniform included in the registration fees?
No, uniforms must be ordered separately and are required at games. And what’s a team without a uniform? Check out our uniforms page to learn more.
